If you haven’t seen The Crown the first two series are very good. Some marvellous acting.

We've (re)found Michael Connelly's Lincoln Lawyer, now Series 2. I read and really enjoyed some Michael Connelly, including the Lincoln Lawyer, years ago and we watched Series 1 the last time we had access to Netflix.
Hmm, not sure about The Crown, although it has been highly recommended by other friends, too, PP ...

I am watching and enjoying Dead Boy Detectives, but I suspect not up your street, KC
One thing I watched with T a while back that was very good and not at all fantastical, in the genre sense, was David Hare's Collateral. But you might have seen it way back on the BBC.
